Behind every travel frustration is a feeling. We mapped them all. Using the Lextant method, we observed and interviewed people at every stage of a trip, then mapped the patterns into a framework for the ideal travel experience.

We aimed to keep the consumers at the very heart of our research process. Employing various ethnographic research methods, we delved into the world of traveler preferences using the AEIOU framework, studying activities, environment, interactions, objects, and users. Interviews, sensory cue research, and affinitization comprised our primary research focus which was guided by some secondary research.
Beginning with the ‘fly on the wall’ technique of observation, we gathered some interesting data points. The interviews allowed us to discuss suitcases with the participants in depth, where we analyzed how they communicated verbally, their preferences and interactions with their suitcases. Through sensory cue workshops, we were able to record true preferences and interactions play out before us.
We were able to derive insights to understand deeper motivation behind why our participants and consumers did what they did and why they thought what they thought when it came to their own personal suitcases. Through the following document, we simplify this rather dense subject to create a glimpse into our research journey and the story that has emerged as a result of this.
During traveling, simplicity and efficiency are important to save time. A suitcase that aids the traveler to be more efficient is the ideal travel- companion for the confident, modern-day wanderer.
